I’m Barbara Tilley and I own and operate Corgi Art Shop in beautiful historic Charlottesville, Virginia. My studio employs the help and enthusiastic support of my two terrific corgis Jasmine and Copper. They are the inspiration and models for all of my corgi themed gifts.
I started making jewelry when my sister gave me an introduction to wire sculpture kit for
Christmas. I had such fun learning wire wrapping and jewelry making skills that I went on to make my own instructional DVDs. Now I have instructional videos that you can download with a company called www.ifiredarts.com. They are a great company to work with and the videos are easy to download and they are very professional.
After making jewelry for a while and taking my jewelry to art shows, I wanted to learn to
make my own beads. I found a local ceramics shop Lazy Daisy Ceramicsand learned some clay basics. Once I purchased my own kiln there was no holding me back.
I still love to make wire jewelry and I teach wire sculpture classes at Studio Baboo a local bead store in Charlottesville.
Now I’ve taken my love for my dogs and the fun that I’m having with clay to make gifts
for pet lovers. I make things that I would want. I hope that you will take the time to give me some feedback.
